Dream – Dolphin, Eagle, Elephant and Fish

What does dreaming of a dolphin, eagle, elephant or fish, mean? You may find that these dreams are easier to interpret than you thought.

Dreams of dolphins symbolize spiritual guidance, intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust. The dream is usually an inspirational one, encouraging you to utilize your mind to its capacity and move upward in life. To dream that you are riding a dolphin represents your optimism and sound social ability.

Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions.
To dream that a dolphin is dying indicates feeling of despair and disconnection.
To dream of an eagle symbolises nobility, pride, freedom, superiority and powerful intellectual ability. It also represents self-renewal and connection with spirituality. It suggests you will fight fiercely for your highest ambitions and greatest desires.

To see a trapped eagle signifies feelings of being restricted or confined. You may feel you are unable to express yourself and be who you really want to be. To see a nest of young eagles represents your achievements and climb to the top of the social ladder.

To see an elephant in a dream indicates that you need to be more patient or more understanding of others. There may also be a memory that you have been holding on to for too long, which you need to let go of. The elephant is also a symbol of power, strength, faithfulness and intellect.

Alternatively, the elephant's introverted personality may be a reflection of your own personality. A white elephant symbolizes royalty. If you are riding an elephant it indicates you are in control of your unconscious and aspects that you were once afraid of.

To dream of fish signifies insights from your unconscious mind. To see a fish swimming symbolizes conception. Some women dream of fish swimming when they fall pregnant. To catch a fish represents insights which have been brought to the surface.

The fish is also an ancient symbol of Christianity and Christian beliefs. Also consider the common phrases such as ‘like a cold fish’, ‘fish out of water’, something that is ‘fishy’ about a situation, or even a reminder that – ‘there are plenty of other fish in the sea’. It may also imply a slippery or elusive situation.
