Dream – Cow, Crocodile, Deer and Dog

What does dreaming of a cow, crocodile, deer or a dog, mean? You may find that these dreams are easier to interpret than you thought.

To dream of a cow symbolizes a passive and docile nature and willingness to accept decisions without question. Alternatively, a cow may also represent maternal instincts or the desire to be cared for. For some cultures, the cow represents divine qualities of fertility, nourishment and motherhood.

To see the skeleton of a cow suggests that you feel you are not receiving the emotional support that you need from your mother or motherly figure. To see a herd of cows indicates your desire to belong. To dream that you are milking a cow indicates a willingness to work hard for which you will be rewarded.

Dreaming of crocodiles symbolizes freedom and hidden strength. It can also forewarn of hidden danger of perhaps bad advice, swaying you into making poor decisions. Crocodiles can live in water and on land, so they represent the emotional (water) and the rational (land). Something may be ‘surfacing’.

Alternatively, the crocodile may be an aspect of a ‘snappy’ attitude; either your own or of someone else. It may also reveal insecurity, displaying false emotions and shedding ‘crocodile tears’. Being chased or bitten by a crocodile denotes disappointments in love and in business.

To see a deer in a dream symbolizes grace, compassion, gentleness, meekness and natural beauty. It has feminine qualities and may point to the feminine aspect within yourself. It also represents independence, alertness, and virility. A deer interpretation could be likened to the expression, someone ‘dear’ to you.

Alternatively, the dream represents vulnerability and naivety.  As a result, others may take advantage of you and your gullibility. If the deer is black it means that you are not acknowledging or are rejecting the feminine qualities of yourself. To dream that you kill a dear suggests attempting to suppress feminine qualities.

To dream of a dog symbolizes loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. The common notions associated with a dog, although different, are often insightful: ‘mans best friend’ or ’treated like a dog’. A dog in a dream may also represent someone in your life who exhibits these qualities, one way or the other.

A vicious and / or growling dog indicates inner conflict. It may also indicate betrayal and untrustworthiness. If a dog bites you on the leg, it suggests that you have lost your ability to balance aspects of your life. To see a dog barking happily in your dream symbolizes pleasures and social activity.
