Take a pinch of psychology; a dash of technology, and a handful of creative thought, and you’ll end up with the recipe for the 'fun theory' initiative from Volkswagen.
The purpose of the initiative: To change people’s behaviour for the better by making something simple – fun! The resulting entries proved that people’s behaviour can be changed for the better by making things, fun; from walking up stairs to putting garbage in the bin, and many others.
